Leslie L. Solty & Sons Limited, was established in 1951 by Leslie L. Solty Sr. Originally based in the heart of Toronto in the area of Bloor and Spidina, Solty & Sons Ltd soon moved to a larger space in the suburb of Scarborough, east of the dowtown core. The administative office was etablished on Kingston Rd along with a construction yard and a garden centre. The company purchased their first farm in the Cookstown area in the late 50′s, to start proucing their own sod and plant material. Soltys became a major player in the landscape industry, creating beautiful residencial landscapes, as well as landscaping large commercial projects throughout the southern Ontario market.
